The Weed Wolf
Brett
Cannabis is one of my biggest passions in life. Flower and concentrates are my area of expertise. So let’s get this out of the way first: I don’t care about THC %, I think it’s a bad metric to use when looking for any cannabis product. It’s not to say that THC % isn’t a factor at all but it’s about all the cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids working together and your own individual receptors as well as your own individual brain and body chemistry and how those all interact together. I will always pay more attention to the terpene profile of each individual strain(and the batch of that strain, as dominant terpenes can change depending on the phenotype and the batch) and terpene %.
My preference of consumption method changes from time to time but I always like switching it up and trying out flower in different ways to see how my experience my change between a bong, a vaporizer, a joint, etc... That being said I always come back to joints, they are my favourite hands down. I find rolling joints to be a calming and relaxing experience for me personally.
Having worked in both the legacy market and the legal market for 17 years all together I have had the chance to see, experience and learn so many things about this beautiful and amazing plant. I strive to always continue learning because there is always more to learn in this industry in some form or another. I would never personally claim to know everything about cannabis and anyone that thinks they know everything about cannabis has already failed themselves. Cannabis is an incredible teacher, she will teach you something new everyday, you just have to pay attention.
I put all of my knowledge and experience with cannabis to the test on a daily basis, they say you learn by doing and by trying as much as you can. I also try to keep notes on everything that I try, not just on my experience but on the flower or concentrates appearance, nose, taste, etc... I'm also an amateur photographer, I do it as a hobby and I always try to photograph the things I have enjoyed. I find it fun and interesting keeping a journal of notes and photos.
Something that I think a lot of people lose sight of is the difference between subjectivity and objectivity when talking about products. In the case of Cannabis you always have to keep in mind that everyone will like different things. Different consumption methods, different strains, etc... "Different strains for different brains" so to speak. With that in mind, I always try to approach anything that I try in an unbiased fashion. For example there may be a strain that I don't like or have never liked throughout my years but that is a subjective preference. But what is objective is quality and cleanliness of a product. So I may try a specific strain that I don't like but I can still separate my subjective preferences from the objective truth of quality. It could be some of the highest quality clean flower or concentrate out there but the strain may just not be for me and that's okay, I can still praise and appreciate the product if it deserves praise for other factors aside from my experience with it.
I love having conversations about all things Cannabis. I really enjoy trying to point people in new directions and to help them find something they may end up loving, it can be a very rewarding feeling to know I’ve helped someone find their new favourite flower or concentrate.
